Local Activists’ Origin Story Helps Inspire Award Winning Documentary Soulardarity and Parker Village will be screening an award winning, uplifting documentary on grassroots groups combating the climate crisis and seeking environmental justice. "How to Power a City", a documentary by Pace University professor Melanie LaRosa was shot in several locations around the U.S. including Highland Park. It highlights how residents banded together to create Soulardarity when DTE Energy killed the municipal lighting system leaving residents literally in the dark when night fell. The group rallied to replace more than 1,000 residential street lights with clean, green,
