Genesis: with Dino Lampron, Nightfire Dance Theater and Storydance

An epic tale of our human tribe told through dance, theater, music, storytelling, painting and acrobatics, inspired by the art of Dino Lampron. Followed by a Halloween dance party with costumes encouraged. All proceeds at the door will benefit Food Gatherers of Ann Arbor. Vocal and instrumental music by Tracy Allyn (vocals), Curtis Glatter (percussion), Alex Terzian (percussion and stringed instruments), Kevin Coppock (percussion), and Markita Moore; storytelling by Jill Halpern. Guest performances by members of AcroYoga Ann Arbor. Dance and choreography by Tracy Allyn, Kim Brown, Sadie Franca, Cindy Gere, Kalaea, Miguel McIntyre, Irena Nagler and Ellie Shansky.

Every winter for the past eight years, brave souls in the Detroit area freeze for a mile in just speedos and Santa hats while running along Woodward Ave. from Campus Martius. The event is a fundraiser run by Halo Detroit to benefit local charities. This year, the organization has the goal of drawing 250 participants, with proceeds to be split between The Greening of Detroit and the Ruth Ellis Center.
