Beyond Basics Hosts Literacy Luncheon

Beyond Basics, a premier literacy nonprofit, proudly presents its Literacy Luncheon from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7. This event honors individuals dedicated to improving literacy in Michigan and across the country. Honorees have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to breaking barriers, empowering communities, and transforming lives. In memory of co-founder Dr. Joanne Wagerson, Beyond Basics has named Yael and Ethan Gross, who is CEO of Globe Midwest Adjusters, Humanitarians of the Year. This year’s Bettering the Lives of Children Honorees are Frank Venegas of Ideal Group, Carolyn Clifford of WXYZ-TV, and Darryl Woods of The City of Detroit.
