Wicked

Before there was Dorothy — and her little dog, too — there was Glinda (the Good Witch) and Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West), two friends from opposite sides of the poppy field. Opposing personalities and viewpoints collide (namely, that of their reactions to the Wizard’s corrupt government), which leads to Elphaba’s eventual journey into wickedness. With music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz (Godspell), Wicked the musical combines the alternative telling of the trippy and timeless classic film with Gregory Maguire’s 1995 novel, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West.
