Tonic to hold Grand Finale party this Sunday

After 14 years in business, Marty Coats, owner of Tonic Nightclub, has decided to close its doors.

The club has seen celebrity guests like Justin Timberlake, Nelly, Beyonce, and P. Diddy. We, ourselves, have fallen asleep on their VIP couches.

Coats also owns Mustang Jane's, a country-western bar next door to Tonic as well as Royal Oak's Fifth Avenue, so he won't exactly be retiring. According to a story in the Oakland Press, he says he isn't sure if he'll sell the space or repurpose it. But he is sure that the brand will be put to bed.

Sunday will be Tonic's final day, but the club will be celebrating their Grand Finale all weekend. The Sunday finale is fitting, as Tonic was known for their Sexy Sundays, a night that drew in big industry and college crowds and generally featured a themed dress code and cash giveaways.
