Flint resident finds thousands of bottles of water left behind in vacant church

The last thing Jimmy Cowell expected to see inside an abandoned Flint school were thousands of bottles of water stacked to the ceiling.

After all, the city has been devastated by tainted water for the past five years. Cowell doesn’t drink water by the faucet and takes quick showers because the water tastes like a chlorinated swimming pool.

The water is so toxic it kills his plants.

So why in the hell were mountains of bottled water left inside the vacant school next to the former St. Agnes Church while many Flint residents still can’t trust their faucets?

Metro Times tried to track down the property owner, Reginald Williams of Flint, but we couldn’t reach him.

Cowell said the water is no longer usable because the floor is covered in dirty water and sewage.

“Hopefully this will wake up people to the fact that Flint does not care about its people,” Cowell said.
