Nuggets-era revivalists and garage rockers the Woggles have survived the ’80s, the ’90s, and the risk of being labeled a novelty act due to their eccentric electricity. But what is made most obvious with this foursome’s most recent release, Tally Ho!, a riotous blend of grit and pop, is that they have been wildly overlooked. But maybe that’s what makes the Woggles so, well, Woggle-y. Kicking ass with kitsch and camp, the Woggles promise to melt your face off. What could make a rock show better? A dash of Detroit punk royalty (and opener) Amy Gore and Her Valentines.
Show is at 9:30 p.m.; 4114 Vernor Hwy., Detroit; 313-436-1793; elclubdetroit.com; Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 at the door.
