Genocide is one of many stains on human history and the erasure of many races has taken place throughout the ages. Scott Straus is a professor of political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the author of Fundamentals of Genocide and Mass Atrocity Prevention, and thus can be considered an expert on ending genocide. Straus is also a council member at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum where he works closely with the Simon-Skojt Center on Genocide Prevention. His lecture comes at an important time in human history, as many races and religions still face rampant discrimination and xenophobia.
