The Joe Policastro Trio

While they remain true to the acoustic aesthetic of jazz, what Joe Policastro, Dave Miller, and Mike Avery aim to accomplish is an open-minded fusion that incorporates rock, soul, funk, and South American influences onto the jazz stage. Their latest record, Screen Sounds, isn’t your typical jazz record, either — a collection of movie and television themes, music, and compositions reimagined to create a totally fresh soundtrack to a new era of jazz.
