The Greatest Freedom Show On Earth: Windsor/Detroit Premiere

Mark your calendars! On February 17th, “The Greatest Freedom Show on Earth” will have its premiere screening at the historic Capitol Theatre in downtown Windsor. The documentary focuses on the cross border celebration, Emancipation Day – nicknamed The Greatest Freedom Show on Earth – which brought together communities in Detroit and Windsor over a forty year period. Using a rich archive of recently sourced material, this is the story of Walter Perry, a newspaper boy turned Freedom Evangelist, who attracted the likes of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Stevie Wonder to Windsor to celebrate black history.
