The Color Purple

The Color Purple is based on the epistolary novel of the same name by Alice Walker. Set in Georgia, the story revolves around the lives of African American women in the 1930s. The Color Purple is frequently challenged by censors because of its violent and racially charged content. With only five performances, this production will feature Grammy Award winner Jennifer Holliday.
