The Breeders

What do you get when you cross alt-rock icons the Pixies and post-punk mavens Throwing Muses? Kim Deal from the Pixies and Throwing Muses’ Tanya Donelly recorded their debut Pod in 1990. With only four records in nearly 30 years, and several multiyear hiatuses and lineup changes, the Breeders have managed to outlive the success of their iconic ’90s hit “Cannonball” — for which we are eternally thankful.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; 4140 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-833-9700; majesticdetroit.com ; Tickets are $25.
