"TERRIBLE" TED MAIL

Sep 19, 2007 at 2:45 pm

These are some of the e-mails -- both progressive and even more progressive -- that I got in response to last week's review of Ted Nugent's new Love Grenade CD:

Bill,

Your review of Ted Nugents Love Grenade is ridiculous. It seems as if you have something against Ted, and if you do, then you should not review his music if your just going to bash him. This review makes you look like a moron. To even come close to associating Ted with pedophilia is ridiculous, GET REAL. If you get personal like this in your reviews, your career will probably bomb. Looks like you need a new career because this one obviously is not for you, learn how to review a CD, and not just make personal attacks on the artist the whole time.

You just don't "get it." There's nothing I can say in a brief email that hasn't already been emailed to you by numerous Nugent fans.

The bottom line is... the world would be a better place if Ted were in charge. And our state will be a better place if Ted would graciously serve us as Governor.

He is an intelligent, articulate, humorous guy who knows what he is talking about - more so than any politician or talking head - or writer/columnist!

And, as for his musicianship, he's a master of the guitar. Granted, I'd say guys like Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, and Eddie VanHalen are right up there (if not above him) but nonetheless, he's not a talentless bimbo like Britney or himbo like Timberlake or whoever the media fawns over lately. It's amazing, by the way, that people in the media (like you) can criticize his talent - while simultaneously probably celebrating the so-called talent of well, every single "artist" who has received an award in recent years on music/video award shows - and they absolutely without a doubt have no talent whatsoever! Not just the no-namers -- people like Madonna (a no-talent at all ) or Michael Jackson (close to a no-talent, though I have to admit he can dance, so can a million other people in this country, so big deal!)

Bill:

I've been reading you since you were at Creem. I just wanted to let you know how much I enjoyed your definitive skewering of Da Nooge (God, what an asshole's asshole he is) .

Well done, sir.

***

What was with your review? You seemed to focus mainly on Nugent's politics instead of what was actually on his new CD Love Grenade.

I guess you can write what you want but next time you might want to skip indulging your own politics and just stick to reviewing the music. As it is, I have no interest in hearing your take on his politics or your own.

Bad review.

FROM THE SAME WRITER AFTER I RESPONDED:

So you are basically a bitter leftwinger. Thanks for clarifying.

***

RIGHT ON, BILL!

Reading your article is like reading a PETA assault on hunters and hunting, your mangled garbage illustrated your liberal views and the Metro Times should throw your mindless Ass out!

I wasted my time reading your article and now understand there are better idiots that work outside the NY Times.

***

Did I mention this guy remains one of George W. Bush 's biggest showbiz supporters

Bill, Exactly what does that quote mean?????? Was it really necessary to put your political view in the story????? Not very good journalism sir!

***

Just read the article now - what a beautiful way to start a Friday.

Thanks!

Ted’s been a radical idiotic egoistic pinhead (only saying kind words) for decades now. It’s nice to see someone wrote what a hypocritical dickhead Nugent is.

I wouldn’t buy any of his stuff and haven’t since Amboy Dukes. Nugent is a sick man.

Bill-

Man, you hit the nail on the head with that idiot, Ted Nugent. About 10 years ago he had a radio show here. I would listen just because he annoyed me (why not?). One morning he went off about how he hated feral cats because they killed song birds. He revealed that he would shoot the cats from his back porch. I am a cat lover and I swear, this enraged me. I am not over this yet. I told everyone on every forum that I could. He's such a jerk.

I have another one. In the late 80's, Mitch Ryder made one album with John Mellencamp. At the time, there was a Rolling Stone interview. In this interview, Mitch revealed that he would go out "mowing", which is picking up under-age boys. I should have kept this article, but I didn't. After this one album, Mellencamp dropped him like a hot potato. If you decide to dig up this Rolling Stone article, e-mail me a copy. I would appreciate it.

Speaking of assholes, how did you learn to type with yours?

***

Go fuck YOURSELF Bill! You liberal Scum-faggot!

FROM THE SAME WRITER AFTER I RESPONDED:

Stay in Alby! or Alba or wherever it is your from. Maybe one day the Beatles will make a comeback.

Remember Bill, this is not Vietnam were dealing with in Iraq. Its a real war. A war you may not like. But a war that is necessary. A war that provides you with the freedom to tell people to fuck off for wearing ear plugs.

And just a fun little tidbit to conclude:

Ted Nugent, rock star and avid bow hunter from Michigan, was being interviewed by a French journalist and animal rights activist.

The discussion came around to deer hunting. The journalist asked, "What do you think is the last thought in the head of a deer before you shoot him? Is it, ‘Are you my friend?’ or is it ‘Are you the one who killed my brother?’“

Nugent replied: "Deer aren't capable of that kind of thinking. All they care about is, ‘What am I going to eat next, who am I going to screw next, and can I run fast enough to get away?' Actually, they are very much like the French."

The interview ended at that point.

Governor "Terrible" Ted?
