Ta-Nehisi Coates

The Atlantic's Ta-Nehisi Coates made quite a stir last year with his 15,000-word epic essay on slavery and race, "The Case for Reparations." He also carries one of the most enjoyable blogs on the web, and consistently receives praise as one of the best nonfiction writers around today. Coates will talk about the state of black America today for the U-M's biennial Motorola Lecture series.
