Silents at the Senate: Fatty Arbuckle & Friends

Paul Leni’s 1928 silent film “The Man Who Laughs” accompanied by organist Lance Luce on the mighty 4/34 Wurlitzer theater organ. Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, the story follows Gwynplaine, a.k.a. the Laughing Man, famously portrayed by Conrad Veidt, whose performance served as the inspiration for Batman’s greatest villain, the Joker. Silents at the Senate is supported by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation and Creators of Culture. Free parking.
