Shipping containers are the hot new craze.

For example, the Detroit Shipping Company is a two-story food hall built out of 21 stacked containers, plus another one used for storage. There are also shipping container condos in Woodbridge and Corktown, shipping container houses in Ferndale and Royal Oak, and a Detroit shipping container home for rent on Airbnb.

If you’re interested in living in a shipping container, or perhaps using one for your business, a recent Detroit-area Craigslist listing is selling 40-foot shipping containers starting at $1,800 apiece.

Delivery of the Ocean Conex steel shipping containers is available at an additional cost. New, "cargo-worthy," and "as-is" options are available, and there are a variety of containers to choose from.

If interested, call Fred or Allen of MCS Moveable Container Storage at 866-222-2299. For more information, the listing is here.
