Sex Cells with Marc Almond

When: Wed., Oct. 30, 8 p.m. 2019
Price: $35+
Though “Tainted Love” was originally recorded by Gloria Jones in 1964 and even revived by Marilyn Manson in 2001, it’s synthpop duo Soft Cell’s 1981 version that is the most popular, and, to this day, remains one of the catchiest damn songs from the era. For Halloween, Soft Cell’s Marc Almond will join Sex Cells, Los Angeles’ long running “party for sexy weirdos” (as one West Coast paper called it). The event, which has become an inclusive, zero-tolerance staple of L.A.’s club scene, will bring DJs and fetish culture to Midtown for a special performance, where Almond will perform Soft Cell hits with a DJ set from Hercules & Love Affair. The evening will see performances by Plack Blague and Looky Looky. Oh, and Sex Cells is themed, too, so attendees are encouraged to wear their masquerade-meets-fetish attire.
