School of thought

If you haven’t decided where you stand on school vouchers, a few folks are eager to help solidify your view. The Interfaith Committee on Worker Issues is hosting a debate at Wayne State University on Thursday, Sept. 14. Anita Neelam of Kids First Yes!, and others will argue in support of the plan; Dave Hecker, Michigan Federation of Teachers secretary-treasurer, and his crew will tell you why to vote no. If voters approve the plan in November, parents who want to send their children to private school are entitled to a $3,100 state subsidy. The free event is at 7 p.m. in Manoogian Hall, Room 91.
