"Right to Read" Film Screening & Panel Discussion

Join the conversation at a free screening of the WKAR original documentary Right to Read. The film presents the moving story of Michigan families attempting to secure the right to read for their children. Following the screening, a panel will discuss Michigan's third-grade reading law and its impact on children and families, information on how families can request a retention exemption for their child, and reading proficiency resources. Panelists: • Robin Pizzo, WKAR Director of Education • Matt Koleszar, State Representative • Bianca Burch, Parent featured in the film • Gabriel DellaVecchia, Co-founder of Don't Leave Us Behind
