Ought
More Than Any Other Day
Constellation

While the members of Canadian band Ought seem determined to be as quirky and odd as possible, there’s a nagging feeling of familiarity to More Than Any Other Day. A few seconds into “Habit,” for example, you realize that Talking Heads must have been a huge influence for these guys. That’s no bad thing, but it wipes away any notion of individuality. Fortunately, the songs are still strong enough to stand alone, and the fact that they listen to Talking Heads, as well as the likes of Gang of Four and the Feelies just shows that they do their research.
