Read and rock on

Techno-heads, grab your glow pens and take notes. A new magazine covering electronic music and the culture that surrounds it hit the stands last week. And London duo Swayzak, funky left-coaster Robbie Hardkiss, and local favorites Stacey Pullen and Juan Atkins are touring in celebration of its inception. The magazine is called Revolution and the tour hits Motor (3515 Caniff, Hamtramck) on July 18. The subculture of electronic music i.e. all the partying, spiritualism and fashion, has hit the mainstream and some say it’s an event that rivals the advent of rock ‘n’ roll in its effect on popular culture. Revolution recognizes this and what sets it apart from other music publications is its focus on technology’s effects on the scene. Born in the age of the Internet, it helps one navigate through all the sites offering downloadable music and even gives compilation suggestions. A CD, including MP3 files, software and links to specific sites comes with the magazine. Check out the Web site at www.planetrevolution.com for more information.
