Post Malone

Rarely do the terms “rapper” and “singer/songwriter” wind up in the same sentence. In the case of 22-year-old Post Malone, well, he’s the exception to most rules. From opening for best bro Justin Bieber on his Purpose World Tour to his recent viral status for a chilling cover of Nirvana’s “All Apologies,” Malone’s marble-mouthed and versatile fusion of country, grunge, hip-hop, and R&B sets him apart. Malone’s 2016 debut Stoney went platinum and his forthcoming/unfinished project Beerbongs & Bentleys is already garnering notable attention. It’s obvious that the kid is alright.

Doors open at 7 p.m.; 318 W. Fourth Street, Royal Oak; 248-399-2980; royaloakmusictheatre.com; Tickets start at $35.
