Playin’ a hunch

If life is really a mystery, then we all must be detectives. Every day we take the clues life gives us, then we do our best to solve all of our various cases. Think about it: What links humans is the common pursuit of survival (to find food, water or beer, shelter, etc.). Once that mystery is solved, we move on to bigger puzzles: Truth, Law, the Pursuit of Happiness and the Meaning of Life. Academics may waste a lot of time complicating these concepts, but an awful lot of everyday people seem to work them out through mystery novels, films and television shows. When it comes right down to it, is the pursuit of happiness that our forefathers cursed us with anything more than a Scooby Doo mystery?
