Few legends are as unstoppable as 73-year-old R&B icon Patti LaBelle. LaBelle and her silky soprano have been lending themselves to creating sensual baby-making music for more than half a century. But R&B isn’t her only bag. The iconic disco track “Lady Marmalade” released in 1974 stretched LaBelle’s reach to radio dance stardom. And she didn’t stop there. LaBelle became the unofficial queen of gospel, too, and over time has garnered dozens of Lifetime Achievement awards, and her name hangs in just about every hall of fame you can think of. Time has been kind to this legend and we’d bet you’d feel pretty guilty about not seeing for yourself.
