Papier Galerie Presents Ryan Standfest: When Day Is Done

Ryan Standfest: When Day Is Done runs December 3, 2022-January 28, 2023. Ryan Standfest's work titled Factory Heads will feature prints and paintings driven by his preoccupation with optimism, gentrification and its aftermath. The opening reception is December 3rd, 5pm-9pm. An artist talk is scheduled for January 14th at 6pm. The closing reception is January 28, 5pm-9pm. Gallery hours-Wednesday through Saturday, noon-5pm. The Papier Galerie, dedicated to exhibiting works on paper, prints and book art is located in Galerie Camille, 4130 Cass Ave., Suite C, Detroit.

“It was during an intense wind storm in the fall of 2014 that I first witnessed the powerful waves Lake Erie can generate. Lake Erie is the shallowest and the warmest of the five Great Lakes. And the waves I capture on this lake are generally two-fold. There are the main lake waves, which are generated from strong winds that whip up the water, and there are secondary waves that are created when these waves crash into barriers near the shoreline.”
