Indie cult icon Paleface taught Beck a few tunes back in the day, and has been one of the biggest indie-folk acts around, thanks in part to his “girlfriend-drummer” Mo Samalot, who provides the sweet harmonies featured on many of his tracks. You might recognize him from Paste magazine’s short documentary, Paleface: The Making of One Big Party, or from reading about him in Metro Times itself since we love the dude’s music. Paleface has worked on three albums with the Avett Brothers, and is an accomplished visual artist to boot. Paleface keeps himself busy, to say the least, but his music never falters.
