One Day One Play

Celebrate Juneteenth with this Detroit reading of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage's "Crumbs from the Table of Joy." Set in the 1950s, this memory play tells the story of a newly widowed father who navigates losing his wife with religion, escaping the Jim Crow south to Brooklyn with his two teenage daughters, and a new German immigrant wife. The Wright Museum joins theaters, organizations and other institutions around the country for this free Detroit reading of "Crumbs" for Juneteenth, to be directed by Casaundra Freeman and produced by Angela G. King.
