Nothin' like a dame 

Last, but not least, while it does seem this detective game is male-dominated, I ran across the summer issue of the Mary Higgins Clark Mystery Magazine ($5.99) published by Family Circle. The magazine is essentially a collection of short pieces of mystery fiction assembled in a romance magazine-style layout — lots of colors, illustrations and factoids. It fits right in on the supermarket magazine rack. I guess the woman author in the title plus the Family Circle logo equals a female target audience.
