Nike Detroit Community Store Opening

@ F.W. Woolworth Co. Building, 1261 Woodward Ave

The Nike Detroit Community Store Opening will feature a welcome from Michigan State University coach Tom Izzo alongside mascot Sparty and photo opportunities. As part of the brand’s Community Store mission, the Detroit Community Store will serve to build and empower a healthy community through the unifying power of sport and serve as a catalyst for positive change in the community through volunteerism, grants and local hiring efforts.

The day’s events will be hosted by Dennis van Oossanen, VP of North America Retail and Michigan State University coach and Basketball Hall of Famer Tom Izzo who will be joined by MSU’s beloved mascot Sparty.

The grand opening festivities will continue the weekend after the opening, June 3-4, including group workouts, basketball experiences and activations, and a community youth run. All activities will take place near and outside the new store.
