MT tooner

Those who don’t like to read overly much (along with those cultivating a taste for the hilarious and twisted) have naturally gravitated to the one-shot cartoons of John Callahan in these MT pages. Is somebody laughing out loud within earshot? Chances are it’s in reaction to a Callahan karate chop to the funnybone. Master of the nutso quickie, Callahan has been working on “Pelswick,” a new half-hour animated series for Nickelodeon about a “fearlessly funny 13-year-old boy who happens to be in a wheelchair,” says Nickelodeon’s Nicole Mazer. Callahan, a quadriplegic with a poetic take on the (in)human condition, launches his new project into North America’s (experi)mental seas at 8 p.m., Oct. 24.
