So, a stand-up comedy show may not be super holiday-centric but what comedian Mike Birbiglia gifts is delightfully awkward escape from racist grandparents and dinner with your sister’s awkward new “artist” boyfriend. Known best for his stand-up, Birbiglia is also an actor, director, writer and a regular contributor to NPR’s This American Life. He’s sort of a punchline veteran at this point, but Birbiglia delivers a fresh take on day-to-day boredom.
