Michael Mitchell: The British Invasion
On Tuesday, April 21, join Michael Mitchell as he presents “The British Invasion”. Rock and Roll is an American art form. It grew out of the blues to become the biggest music sensation the country had ever seen in the 1950's. But by 1960, it was dead and gone in this country. Yet the reach of this revolutionary music went beyond the US. As our country listened to lowest common denominator pop music, our Rock and Roll conquered Great Britain. In 1964, British rock bands gave us back our own art.
