Michael Hurtt & His Haunted Hearts

Yet another reason to attend this weekend’s Hamtramck Labor Day fest, beloved Detroit fixture and all-around excellent dude Hurtt returns to the stage after a too-long hiatus spent recuperating from his battle with cancer. Hurtt’s infectious hillbilly revival music is rooted in his birthplace of New Orleans, but he is best known in these parts for renditions of local classics like Ray Taylor’s “Hamtramck Baby.” (You can also catch him at Lo and Behold in Hamtramck on Sunday, Sept. 6 with Dan Kroha.) This event is part of the Hamtramck Labor Day Festival.
