Maltese Falcon

Maltese Falcon is part of the Noir Film Series. It’s hard to think of classic director John Huston ever not being known as such, but we all must start somewhere. And Huston’s leap from screenwriting to directing was here, in his 1941 adaptation of the Dashiell Hammett mystery. This movie is truly worth repeated views, so seeing a good print projected on the screen is obviously the way to go when it comes to catching creepy little Joel Cairo (Peter Lorre), slinky and possibly untrustworthy Brigid O'Shaughnessy (Mary Astor), and of course outlaw detective with a code Sam Spade (Humphrey Bogart).
