Lock down

News Hits has heard from a well-informed source that Metro Times Editor Jeremy Voas got an up-close look at the Detroit P.D. in action during the wee hours of Saturday morning. The big man was hit with a misdemeanor disorderly conduct charge following some pleasant chit-chat with one of our guys in blue over at the State Theatre, and ended up spending a few hours in the clink with a compadre from the paper. A police report wasn’t available Monday, but expect more details after Voas’ court appearance Friday. The really embarrassing part of the whole thing was that our peerless leader was attending a Real Detroit party. Some people, obviously, have no standards. But, at least for two hours, Detroit’s streets were safe.
