Lake Orion Flower & Art Fair

Lake Orion, Michigan – Genisys Credit Union and T-Mobile presents the 20th annual Flower & Art Fair in Downtown Lake Orion. This Spring fair will feature a variety of local vendors that will have flowers, plants and decorative elements for lawns and homes. There will be local businesses who will showcase landscaping and home improvements ideas. Vendors will be placed on the streets in Downtown Lake Orion. The Orion Art Center will be hosting on-site DIY projects and a Succulent Search and Shop event. New this year; there will be a Beer Garden, in the parking lot at Front and Anderson Streets, that will feature live music, food trucks, cornhole, games and bar. Plus, Upland Hills Farm will have a petting farm on site on Friday 11am-5pm and Saturday 9am – 3pm.

Also new this year, is the Succulent Search and Shop that will take place on Saturday, May 22 between 12-5pm. Grab your friends or your kiddos to participate in the Succulent Search and Shop! Log onto www.FlowerArtFair.com to purchase your pass. Check in at the DIY area in the parking lot at Flint and Anderson. Once checked in, you’ll receive a map of participating locations, and a bag to pick up individual potted succulents at the retailers. While searching for your succulents, you can explore the downtown and visit many of the different retailers Downtown Lake Orion has to offer. Once guests have complete their search, they will go back to the Orion Art Centers DIY area to plant their succulents in a tin planter to take home. Advance tickets are recommended and are limited, any remaining tickets will be sold on Saturday, May 22 between 12-3pm

The Orion Art Center will also be hosting walk-up garden themed arts and crafts. Build and design a mini pallet sign or paint a floral wine glass. Don’t’ have time to stay to create? Take home one of our DIY Marbled Terracotta Pot Grab-and-Go Art Kits with soil and seeds or one of our Pour Painting Kits. There will be something for all ages and skill levels. These quick and easy crafts range from $10 - $15.

The Flower & Art Fair is a fundraiser for the Orion Art Center. The non-profit art center, located in downtown Lake Orion at the Paint Creek Trail head, has been a long-standing community fixture for artists, students, and creatives in the area. It relies on just two fundraising events each year: The Flower & Art Fair, and the beloved, Dragon on the Lake Festival, held the last weekend in August. These events allow the OAC to continue to execute its mission and to provide fine art instruction, kids’ craft activities, to-go art kits, art parties, full-service pottery studio, high school art scholarships, art exhibitions, and so much more. The OAC is appreciative of the support the local community provides to ensure that artistic expression and creativity continue to provide an outlet for those who seek the benefits.
