Josh Malerman and Steve Greene Know What Scares You

You might known local musician Josh Malerman from his work with the High Strung, but the rocker has more talents than just music. He’s also an author, and he’s releasing a new book of short Halloween stories called Goblin. On this evening he will perform a reading from the text while composer Steve Greene casts spooky synths that will help build the tension of the story. The evening will also include a Q&A session moderated by local music writer Jeff Milo. Starts at 7 p.m.; 222 E. Nine Mile Rd., Ferndale; 248-546-2504; ferndalepubliclibrary.org; free.
