Insect Ark

Creating a personal soundtrack to the human psyche's underbelly, Insect Ark weaves a brooding, textural landscape, a starless night spiked with light and flash. The music braids together delay-drenched lapsteel, drums, distorted bass and synths to create a sonic mural both uncomfortably intimate and icy cold. Detroit's Paul Bancell, Ben Saginaw and Chris Samuels are Ritual Howls. They collect samples of the physical world and feed them with guitar, vox, bass, synth and drum machines to create an aura of darkness over a pop sensibility.
