Bounded by Woodward Avenue, Seven Mile Road, and Strathcona Drive, Palmer Woods is a small community made up of 289 gorgeous homes. Many of Detroit’s wealthiest residents live in this manicured neighborhood of historic mansions and some even open them up for public tours. Six of the community’s house, including the 35,000-square-foot Bishop’s Mansion, the neighborhood’s oldest home, a tudor, a Mediterranean-style villa, an English Manor, and a California Contemporary will be open during the tour. Gwen and Charles Scales will play jazzy tunes inside the Bishop’s Mansion where holiday fare and beverages will be served. Ticket holders can park at the 12th Precinct, and shuttles will drive them directly to each home.
