If there is one thing hockey fans usually love, it’s musicals. Wait, what? Does it seems odd to anyone else that a sport known for body checks has inspired a musical? Well, Mitch Albom described it as “Spamalot with hockey sticks,” so do with that what you will. The stage show will feature several original numbers including, “God is a Canuck,” “Oh Octopus, My Octopus,” and “When You’re a Wing.” It seems only fitting that this show will be put on at City Theatre, the intimate little venue located inside the same building as Detroit’s Hockeytown Cafe.
