Four Man Ladder Management – the team behind Grey Ghost – will open a new bar called Second Best across Watson Street from their flagship location.

The group describes the upcoming project as "a bar for the everyman and woman" that will be an unassuming spot and a rare drinking option east of Woodward in Midtown.

Behind the bar, expect a range of drinks "that pay homage to the classics of yesteryear" with shots "from when Jager Bombs and Kamikazes were still cool, and considered 'craft.'" The beer list will include locals on draft and in cans, and feature a rotating "beer + shot" combo.

Chefs John Vermiglio and Joe Giacomino will will develop a menu of bar snacks and sandwiches.

The approximately 2,300-square-foot-space space at 42 Watson will hold 60 seats and feature exposed brick, low lighting, and naugahyde vinyl booths. Garage doors will line the façade, televisions will line the walls, and patrons will be able to play shuffle board and other pub games. When it opens early next year, the bar will open daily at  4 p.m. and close at 2 a.m.
