Go with the flow

Tie-dyeing ain’t no ’60s counterculture thang. Could you ever imagine that in 2001 you’d be begging to see one of those annoying, huge, yellow smiley faces smack in front of a rubber-band patterned blue-and-pink pigmented T-shirt? What if, instead, you were forced to set your sights on a camouflage T-shirt named Menstruflage? Take a guess as to what this tie-dyed shirt uses for tint. You can check it out for yourself if you don’t believe what you’re reading: The shirt exists on www.menstrualmonday.org. This is yet another feminista Web site that actually works antithetically, to make some women feel ashamed. I’m all for bold proclamations of gender pride, but is this really necessary? And dare I ask what’s next — diaper-rash designed baby T-shirts? For info on how to make your own T-shirt, click on Havin’ A Party.
