Frida boutique reopens today after rapid overnight expansion

Rachel Lutz and her team worked through the night to put together the new, expanded Frida boutique just in time for the QLine opening. The shop, which is now double its original size, opens this morning at 9 a.m.

The expansion happened quickly after Lutz took over a space in the Park Shelton that formerly housed Goods, a T-shirt shop. A crew finished removing a wall between the two boutiques yesterday and Lutz got straight to work putting the shop together.

The shop will feature new stock with the same Mexican flair shoppers have come to expect from the boutique.
Frida will be open for business starting today, but is still undergoing small renovations. Lutz says there will be a grand opening party once all the work is complete.
Lutz plotted the expansion in anticipation for a surge in business brought on by the QLine. She says she expects the streetcar to benefit local business owners along the QLine route and through the neighborhoods.
Frida is located at 15 E. Kirby St., Detroit inside the Park Shelton.
