Whether you’re a Vernor’s fan or a root beer aficionado, nothing hits the spot on a hot summer evening like a refreshing ice cream float. On Thursday, August 13, Farmington’s local-history museum concludes its summer porch party series with “Floats and Farmington History,” an evening of live music, floats, and family fun. Hear the rousing songs of yesteryear performed by the Peace Jubilee Brass Band on the grounds of the historic 1867 Gov. Warner Mansion. Face paintings and balloon animals will be available for kids, and Farmington Historical Society members will be onsite to give a glimpse into Farmington’s past.
