Ficano likely to run again for county executive

Ficano's doing what?

About two years ago, the comedic powerhouses of News Hits issued a reader challenge on the heels of the infamous severance deal for former Wayne County development director Turkia Mullin: What day will Robert A. Ficano officially step down as Wayne County executive?

Considering the Mullin deal, the lavish employee benefits so vast they’d make a rich corporate executive weep and the investigation surrounding his administration by the feds, we figured Ficano couldn’t withstand the scrutiny much longer, let alone another term.

It turns out, Ficano’s got that sorta gall: The Detroit News reports that Big Bob appears to be gearing up for a fourth run as county exec. We reached out to the other candidates who’ve already entered the race for comment on Ficano’s possible run. The responses were uniformly similar: If Bob does file to run, they all look forward to a discussion and debate surrounding Wayne County and their records. Oooh. That ought to pack the debate hall.
