Eagles of Death Metal

The rare band with a silly name who don’t suck, Eagles of Death Metal is of course a vehicle for Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme and front dude Jesse Hughes to just get lost in classic riffs and genre flourishes that might not be popular at the moment. A while back Homme referred to their sound as “bluegrass slide guitar mixed with stripper drum beats and Canned Heat vocals.” Thankfully, they add bombast and boogie to that weird mix, so that we can all have a shit ton of fun at their shows.
