Devin Gary & Ross, Sun Foot, No Age

UFO Factory
There are so many reasons to be at this show. Let’s start with Gary Panter, a man responsible for creating the very aesthetic that powers much underground visual art (Jimbo, Pee Wee’s Playhouse, and so much else beyond that). Dude is also a gifted musician, and in the ramblingly psychedelic group Devin Gary and Ross (who do not sound dissimilar to Cary Loren’s Monster Island) he’s joined by visual artists and musicians Devin Flynn and Ross Goldstein, as well as the inimitable divebomber bassist Kramer — the guy who produced Galaxie 500 and Pussy Galore and whose bands Bongwater and B.A.L.L. were among the finest that all of the 1980s had to offer. They open for Sun Foot — another act featuring a powerhouse of visual art (Chris Johanson)— and the experimental punk band No Age.
