Detroit's finest showed up to pay their 'Respect' to Aretha Franklin

The passing of Aretha Franklin was felt by the world over as the Queen of Soul was laid to rest on Friday, Aug. 31 at Greater Grace Temple on Seven Mile Rd.

Despite the somber occasion, Detroiters came out not to mourn, but to celebrate the lifetime of achievements and cultural contributions that Aretha Franklin bestowed upon the local community.
