Throughout the weekend you can enjoy entertainment from musical acts Act Casual, HealthKlub, Ben Keeler, Airjob, Young Punk Music, Mountain Babies, WuZee, And the Dropout, and MegaPowers. The weekend also features our first collaborative meal: “Farm to Farm: Luncheon with Chef Les” at Prime Land Farms in Harbor Beach, just 15 miles from Port Austin. The farmers at Prime Land Farms are working with Chef Les Molnar from InLaws Hospitality (Huron Room, Green Dot Stables, Johnny Noodle King) to create a menu using products from the farm prepared with a Detroit touch. The $40 ticket includes transportation to the luncheon, cocktails from Detroit City Distillery, lager from Lake Bros. Beer, live entertainment, and of course, the delicious meal itself!
Detroit Up North provides a unique experience for Detroiters to escape the hustle and bustle of urban life and allows residents of Huron County to enjoy the many talents that Detroit has to offer. “ We have built relationships with the community in Port Austin, and they love hosting — for the economic boost during an off weekend — but are also very supportive and excited to discover some of the talent, creativity, and people Detroit has to offer year after year,” says event organizer Kelsey Hubbell.
