Dear Darkness

We don’t need to waste any time pretending to be surprised that two people can make a lot of ruckus in a rock band, with the guitarist plus drummer configuration. Certainly not here in Detroit, where we have precedents for such a thing. Dear Darkness are one of the best new bands in the city, and yes it’s just two people making a post-punk wail that owes as much to London circa 1978 as it does Olympia circa 1993. It’s a sound that’s raw but glam, powerful, and verging on out of control. This is the release party for their 10-track album, Be Nice Honey. Be sure to arrive early in order to catch Mountains and Rainbows and Sex Police.
